Im surprised he didnt wait until his next first rounder to pull the trigger on gordon. But i guess that could have been risky.

Way to go Chargers with the least surprising pick in the draft. You had to be thrilled with Melvin Gordon falling to you right where you probably expected. Gordon's the real deal. Kid is a special talent...just wait. Love how quickly this is progressing....at this rate I may get to pick by next Friday.

I actually almost went in another direction and waited on Gordon, like Denver mentioned. But, since Gordon was the highest RB on my board at that point and I needed a RB, the homer pick made sense. I also came really close to trading the pick. Discussions were underway, but we couldn't quite come to an agreement.

Gordon was a good pick made even better via homerism. Every draft list he is a top 10 RB and is going to be the "bell cow" that Tomlinson was

Yeah, he's def not going to be a bell cow with woodhead there on passing downs.

One thing is for sure, the Chargers desperately missed Woodhead after he was injured last year and the extra dimension that he adds to the offense. Of course the fact that they went through 5 different Centers last year destroyed any kind of OL continuity as well. I will have no problem at all cheering for Woodhead this year. I hope he makes a first down on every 3rd down reception he has this season because snything positive that he does will just help my favorite team.

Gordon May not be a "bell cow" but he'll get plenty of carries to make an impact. Not too many bell cows in today's NFL. On an somewhat related note Julio is an absolute steal in the middle of the 1st round.

Wow TJ Yeldon is a total reach with the players on the board IMO.

I needed a RB, wasnt a fan of any of the others. I felt like he had the clearest path to the most playing time among RB options.

I hear you, just way more value on the board in my opinion. It's a risky pick that could pan out. Trust me I like Yeldon. Only risky because of how early you took him and the other guys out there. One guy in particular stands out if you wanted a RB. What do i know though,

Everyone else seemed like they had a time share, I wanted a 3 down RB. I considered Mike Evans, but I had 5 WRa and no RB.
