The commissioners came up with the following idea to try and prevent tanking as much as possible.
Each year the bottom 12 teams will be involved in a lottery for the draft order. All 12 of those teams will have equal odds of obtaining the first overall pick, so no team will reap any benefit of losing games.
This will give us 12 playoff teams and 12 lottery teams. The 8 teams remaining will be either fighting for a playoff spot, or fighting to get a better 4th round pick since the 1st team out of the playoffs receives the 4.01.
The commissioners do NOT wish to get involved with telling teams who they can and cannot start on a week to week basis, so this was the best idea we could come up with.
Please vote on the poll above!!!

If someone tanks and therefore gets a better pic big deal. Its really harmless, crappy play but harmless. Taking away luck (which i know is big in FF) it takes a long time to build a better then others team in this league. I think we are trying to hard to stop bad character not harmful FF play. We use free will in some of these trades I'm always complaining about, why try to mess with this.

It gives a team a free win and is not fair to the other teams fighting for a playoff spot that had to play a non-tanking team.

Only other option would be to go back to a snake draft and make the draft order 100% random. That way anyone has a shot at the 1.01 as well as the 4.01 every year. That's the only way to prevent tanking and still not handicap anyone.

First of all, I have the 1.01 and I tried to win every game! I repeat, I did not and would not ever tank! That said, putting more money on the line is the only way to really prevent tanking in my mind. This league is supposed to mirror the NFL as closely as possible and now it does until the 4th round. I say leave it alone. Thanks

Eagles your off here. If your at the bottom your team is no good. If your not starting obvious players you are cheating (if its not a simple mistake). Lets face it there are some people really INTO this league and some who are not. What this rule change is trying to do is give a better opportunity to those who care and are in the bottom 12 because they had a bad year. It is totally anti-competitive in nature and echos a bail-out plan approach which i'm getting enough of in the real world.
No matter what league i'm in its clearly a part of the game that some will not try there hardest. I can see and have been frustrated myself (as one who like to play to win) but it is human nature. Not everyone values a good games as others do. Try to enforce it and you might as well call this communist fantasy football. Or just call it pro basket ball and we all know how exciting that draft is.
